There’s a quiet that comes with every New Moon.
A pause. A reset. A breath held in the belly of the sky.
It’s not loud. It doesn’t announce itself.
It just arrives—with darkness, with stillness, with possibility.
Astronomically, the New Moon happens when the Moon is positioned between Earth and the Sun, making it invisible to the naked eye. But somatically, something else occurs.
The absence of light becomes an opening. A chance to turn inward—into the places within us that don’t usually get much space to speak.
This isn’t the kind of stillness that feels cozy right away.
For many, it can feel like a shutting down—an anxious blank space.
And yet, from a nervous system perspective, stillness is often the very thing our bodies crave, even if our survival patterns resist it.
The parasympathetic state—rest, digest, restore—is where regulation returns.
But getting there requires trust.
It asks us to surrender the need to do, and allow the body to be.
This particular New Moon—called the Beaver New Moon. The Libra New Moon ties back to the Full Moon, which for this month was the Beaver Full Moon (easy right?!). It marks a seasonal threshold.
Named after the time when beavers instinctively begin to build and fortify their homes before the swamps freeze, it’s an invitation to consider your own preparations for the season ahead.
But preparation doesn’t mean panic.
This is about intentional clarity.
The kind that comes not from planning every step—but from listening to what your system truly needs to move forward sustainably.
As winter approaches, we’re not meant to keep pushing at the same pace.
We’re meant to reflect. To gather what nourishes. To identify what needs repair.
To ask ourselves honestly:
What structures do I need in place—energetic, emotional, practical—to carry me through the colder months? What am I still holding that won’t make it through winter with me? What kind of inner fire do I want to tend and protect?
This is the work beneath the surface.
The quiet blueprinting before the visible growth.
It’s not a time for answers.
It’s a time for honest listening.
In this sound bath, we’ll also introduce a new offering: zero gravity chairs.
These allow your body to fully release into support, creating the sensation of floating while gently guiding the nervous system into a state of rest and regulation. It’s the perfect posture for inward work; especially when stillness feels unfamiliar, or when the body needs extra permission to let go.
Join us on Oct 21st for our first zero gravity sound bath on this Beaver New Moon!
